Hello again!

 A month and more!

I can hardly believe how much time has passed since I last wrote!

I suppose it is an indicator that things are more normal? Certainly life has been busy.

I played lots of golf; had a sore knee that turned out to be my pelvis; had Tim back (he's away again at the moment) and had my flu vaccination. I expect the call for a booster jab at some point over the next month or so.

I took Tim to a special Irish celebration Peter Gorton meal at the Club which was really good...

Keith came back and was able to stay for the start of the Tour of Britain and we went out on to the road to cheer! It was fabulous!

We were stood on this corner!

They went so fast...and the number of cars and motorbikes involved was incredible!

It was lovely to follow it on tv as it wended it's way up to Bodmin, and to watch the later stages too. Unfortunately it was really misty while it was in West Penwith so the helicopter couldn't fly so our spectacular views remain secret!

I haven't had an ironing board since I've been down here and only occasionally iron on top of my oven! But it's not very easy. I spotted this little board in the window of Clemo's in St Just and it's just perfect! It lives on the back of my under-stairs cupboard door, hanging out of the way.  (I was listening to Classic FM on my laptop)

We have had some fabulous sunsets...

and Tim and I walked to Boat Cove near Pendeen one Sunday afternoon which was lovely.

Tim had a weekend away on the Gower with some friends and went up to London for his birthday weekend.

Our Covid rates have now reached about the average for England so there have been improvements in the Cornwall rates, generally though there are still about 30,000 new cases daily and about 100 deaths.

Our latest idiocy is panic buying of petrol because of a shortage of lorry drivers. There are shortages in the shops too for the same reason... and of course you know what happens...everyone fills up when they don't need to. It has been chaos.

The UK is a shambles of a country; there are not enough workers to harvest crops so they rot in the fields; shortages in shops and now shortages in fuel; and my electricity company (along with several others) has failed and has been taken over (in my case) by British Gas. Oh, and National Insurance is going up to help pay for the NHS... no mention of the  Brexit  promise of  hundreds of thousands of pounds a week  that would be available to put into the NHS when we left theEU?

Sorry...incorrect...it wasn't hundreds of thousands... it was £350 million a week which we could spend on public services...

Nothing changes.

But, the weather has definitely changed. When the sun stops rising and setting on the north side of the terrace it's a sign of autumn and we have had those misty mornings which are rather beautiful.
