Christmas and New Year

Christmas and New Year

We had a lovely Christmas day with a walk down the Cot Valley and a lovely dinner which was a couple of hours later than planned but that worked perfectly because it gave us lots of time to be on Zoom with Phil and Brandi and open presents together!

It was lovely!

On Boxing day we went for a walk at Land's End and Lindsay and Peter joined us. We had hoped to get together for a meal at some point over Christmas but with the resurgence of Covid we decided it was best not to risk it!

It was a lovely day!

Generally the weather was either good in the morning or the afternoon which meant that walks could be taken at a 'opportune' time!

We had a fabulous final-for Bridgie walk at Sennen to see the sea - it was glorious again!

Bridgie went back on the Tuesday afternoon - her train was cancelled but that gave us an extra hour for another walk down at Cape... Keith left the following day (29th) and then it was washing and tidying time!

It was really enjoyable getting everything done!

Lindsay and I met up for a New Year's Day walk - the sun came through while we were out... but the mist had drawn back in by the time we were back!

We had to mark the New Year with bubbles of course!

Since then our golf has continued to be cancelled... Tim is back in the gym and continuing with his course and getting his website sorted... and Covid numbers are almost unbelievable.

190,000 one day (new cases) over 200,000  another... and Boris Johnson spouting his usual platitudes. Basically it seems he has handed over decision making to his back-bench MPs who have revolted against more covid restrictions... so basically it seems we make our own choices... it is diabolical.

The health service is struggling hugely - the news this morning said the army were helping with hospitals in London cos of the number of staff missing... we continue to be an absolute shambles.

Of course I hope that 2022 will be an easier one for us all but I am not terribly hopeful - especially with this government.

Enough of the horrid stuff - I am fortunate to live in this amazing place and in such a caring community - and it was lovely to share time with the family over Christmas 😊
