This morning...
...at Falmouth..
...the gales all gone... and a beautiful sunrise (plus submarine below?)
This was the view from my balcony, Lynn had up-graded me so I was able to enjoy this :-)
Now I'm back in Bedfordshire and reacquainted with my laptop - hence the update of the last few days :-)

The next morning brought a gale!
The ships in the bay were battered by strong winds and big waves... it was almost impossible to hold the camera still..I returned once more to Penzance but was home again in the afternoon and must admit I fell asleep on the bed. Later I joined Lynn my host at the B & B Lerryn and we had a lovely afternoon chatting over many things. My thanks to her for a lovely stay.

Sunrise over West Penwith
I set off before the sun got up today, to play golf with the Ladies at Cape Cornwall Golf Club.
I didn't want to get caught up in traffic so skipped breakfast and set off early... below is the lovely sky over St Just as the sun came up behind me.
The Golf course at Cape is in the most amazing situation... we played the back nine, this was the view from the the 'second' tee. The ladies made me very welcome and Ros the Lady Captain, kindly showed me round. After a refreshing drink I went back out on the course to play the remaining nine holes... certainly a very interesting course. Richard, the course manager, is overseeing major changes to the facilities and eventually to the course too. It was great to be able to play it and I hope to be back there again soon :-)
... how about this for a green!
I went into St Just for a wander and then to Newlyn and Penzance to explore some more... by the time I got back to the hotel I was a tired bunny but it had been a good day!

Morning over Pavenham
Sunset at Falmouth...
The journey down started at -4 in our driveway... dropped to minus 11 en route... then gradually warmed till it was zero at Bristol. Driving was slow and careful in such icy conditions but the milder temperature was a false security... it even became plus 4 by Exeter, but then the snow began... a little at first then thick and fast and driving Okehampton/Launceston and then over Bodmin Moor was a nerve-racking affair. At one point, when there was almost no traction, I thought I should stop... but equally knew that if I did I would be stuck... so gritted my teeth... (I know - it was the road that needed gritting!) In fact the highways agencies were brilliant and were out salting etc constantly. Anyway, I was relived to reach the milder climes of Truro and Falmouth - it had taken about 8 hours... but a rather tasty fish and chips whilst sat watching the sunset certainly helped ease the tension!

Pavenham Straight Sunrise
On the way to the Tuesday's Ladies Golf... it turned into a lovely day with a sunshiny afternoon. Golf was fun... I called it "3 Kites and an Eagle" on the Ladies website as one of my playing partners eagled a hole... and we watched three red kites circling above the woods near the 15th and 16th! :-)
