Tues July 7th - 14th

7th-14th July

Bridgie went back to work on Monday 6th after Ben had gone but had a lovely walk in the evening.

On the Tuesday after a busy busy day at work she went for a run with the prospect of nothing but fog and rain for Wednesday!

The forecast really was looking grim but despite that we decided to head out after Bridgie'd finished work and we headed for Cot

By the sea there was no fog but the rest was all dampness and mizzle... you can just see it at the top of the cliff.

We took the adventurous path back...through shoulder high bracken. The path goes steeply up and I was glad Bridgie was leading the way as in places the track was barely discernible!

It was fun!!!!

The following day was similar, misty and damp  but we went up to Perran and then Cubert and had a socially distanced walk with Uncle Tim at Polly Joke and Crantock. It was lovely.

This was a favourite place of Mum's - we walked back across a field of poppies (where the cowslips grow) and though it was past its best the field was still beautiful. (An analogy there too?)

While we were walking on the cliffs it was clear but the drizzle returned as we headed back to the car. Masked up we drove Tim back to his, then headed home.

Bridgie then had work to do - but later in the evening the sky cleared to a bank of cloud  and a dramatic sunset!

The colours were still beautiful an hour after sunset.

Bridgie's Friday was a university day so she was very busy - we were treated  again to a fabulous sunset.

Saturday 11th
...the final day with Bridgie... we walked from here to the Cot Valley and over to Letcha where I turned back but Bridgie headed on to Sennen.

Purple Viper's Bugloss in the distant field with the corn marigolds
It was a beautiful day for a walk.
We went out again in the evening for a final walk at Cape  with another simply gorgeous sunset.

I love the shades of blue/green !
Sunday 12th
Back to London day for Bridgie... masked up and ready to go.

It was lovely to have Bridgie here for so long... an absolute treat.

I popped into Morrisons after waving Bridgie's train away... I was the only person in the whole store wearing a mask (a cotton one made by the shop in St Just).
I bought some consolation bakewell tarts and  millionaire's shortbread and once back home cheered myself with them and coffee!!
It was a beautiful day so a couple of loads of washing got done... and dried and I had a walk down at Cape.

And so tho this week - I played golf with Lindsay on Monday despite rain forecast ...it took a while to arrive and we got 14 holes done before it arrived... and yesterday I caught up with emails and admin-type jobs...

In St Just there are a lot of people around...  The Star Inn made the BBC news!!!! https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-cornwall-53389977

It is a worry having so many more people milling around so I will be very careful over the next few weeks.
I am outraged at how our government has behaved and when I read how some of Gove and Cummings cronies have benefitted from PPE supply chain and similar it makes me sick.

I don't know how they have been able to get away with it all...
