19th April

 19th April

Three of us played a few holes last Tuesday afternoon and then stayed on to eat on the terrace.

We had cocktails and in my case a burger.

Both delicious! The burgers are supplied by Olds so they are really good.

It was fabulous to do something so ordinary as sit together and eat!
We were treated to a lovely sunset too - we needed rugs over our legs to keep us warm plus coats and hats but absolutely worth it!

Thursday morning was the first qualifying competition we have played using the 9 hole system and we were treated to more sunshine but it is still cold.

We also have another pond... if the other one is Crocodile Creek perhaps this is Alligator Alley!

The work on the terrace is complete with the addition of glass to give some protection from the breeze but the joy of an uninterrupted view.

So my weeks are now taken up with lots of golf stuff, I help with the new players on a Thursday and Saturday afternoon, and have been playing on Tuesday, Thursday's and Saturdays!

For the first time in ages we had only a breeze on Saturday and wall to wall sunshine. We were playing a team competition and it was a lot of fun.
It shows how much impact the wind has in that when we finished this Saturday I had walked further than the previous week but didn't feel too tired or stiff at the end. Last week, when we had fierce and bitter winds, I was crocked!

Crocodile Creek has been tidied up with turf around the edges and it looks really good! There are already a good number of balls in it!!

Yesterday I carried on with the lovely wooden jigsaw the 'Babes' bought me for Mother's Day of Tintagel.

It is so lovely to do - very satisfying clicking the pieces in.

It has been lovely to stop and have coffee outside with a groups of ladies, it is definitely feeling more positive - some of the ladies have had their second jabs too so that is progress.
I continue to ignore Twitter and most news Programmes bar the headlines. There is much that would infuriate if I spent time on it.

We recently had 4 professional golfers come and do a Video blog at Cape, it was in middle of the gale so it was fascinating to watch. One of them was Sophie Keech who plays on the LET tour so it was especially interesting to see how she played.

If you fancy watching some of it - here's a link to them playing the 13th,14th and 15th.

All for now, back on the course later this morning then not again till Thursday...I need to bake some bread tomorrow!

  1. So glad that your life is returning to a new normal. Course looks great, is there some small boy lined up to retrieve the lost balls? Terrace and lunch look eccellent.
