Last Tuesday evening Lindsay and Peter, their daughter Holly and husband Adam, Di (another golfer) and I had another meal at the club as the owner's son Brendan was singing 60s and 70s music. It was a lovely evening (cold of course) but again it was so good to be able to enjoy an evening like this.
With the easier restrictions we actually had a committee meeting in person for the first time for almost a year!
We had it in Frieda's garden in Penzance. It was a beautiful evening and the sea was the most wonderful colours.
It was so windy on Thursday that our usual golf was called off but in the afternoon I was delighted to get my hair cut!
Yippee! How good that feels!
The weather continued sunny and cold, I had to send Keith this picture of the wicket being rolled in preparation for a match!
On Friday I was able to have coffee with Judith and Carl in their garden. Judith's father died in January and so has been very fraught with sorting everything out... he lived in London so they had lots of to-ing and fro-ing.
Saturday continued with gale force winds so no golf again but a walk down to Cape where it was sheltered from the easterly!
I love the worn smooth curve of the rocks below.
Monday saw over 150 players playing a pairs competition at Cape. It was run by Mizuno and two of our members (men) won the overall prize of a trip to Malaga. it was absolutely lovely to see the course full - there were a lot of visitors some from as far afield as Birmingham!
The weather was wonderful, even the bitter wind had dropped and the course was looking at its best.
Yesterday we had rain for the first time in a month! The farmers certainly need it (and gardens and golf courses too of course!).
We played 9 holes today, a very heavy shower drenched us but I was playing with two ladies I hadn't seen for ages so it was absolutely lovely to be out there.
