Happy Birthday Morning John!

06.02.13
I have loved watching the moon ease closer and closer to the sunrise  over the last few days:-)

05.01.12
A lovely day for golf and mi final committee meeting as Captain - just the AGM to go and my handover will be complete :-)

 04.02.13
Today, Tim flew to Munich (just for the day!) ... this meant an early flight from Gatwick... no direct trains running...  a bus needed to link between stations... so I gave him a lift.  British Telecom were coming at 8am to sort out our lack of phone/internet... and he needed to be at the airport for about 5am.

To cut a long drive short - we set off at just after 2am, arrived at Gatwick just before 4 and I was back home by 5.30! The roads had been empty, but as I drove back up the M1 it was already getting busy.

I fell onto the bed and slept for an hour - waking to such an ill feeling - simply tiredness! However it is amazing what a brew will do and after a couple of mugs of tea I was more human; BT came and by 10.30am everything was fixed. It took a couple of days to catch up on that sleep!

Tim had a good trip to Munich -  though I am still waiting to hear the details :-) Hoping to see him on Sunday when he's coming for my birthday - I'm cooking roast lamb... Bridgie will be home specially too  - and Keith will be back from Ethiopia. Hoping to have Phil on Skype and that will make it a lovely 60th Birthday celebration :-)

03.02.13
Another overcast morning - colder than it looks!

Just in case you haven't heard through other means, Keith has published his ebook which is available on line.

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Viewing-History-producers-changing-ebook/dp/B00B76P7EA/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1359531906&sr=8-1

He also has a website  www.viewinghistory.com  with some background to his book and a forum for discussion.

He would appreciate reviews and feedback on both the book and the website :-)

A frosty morning with clear blue skies.. a good day to clear out the garage and visit the tip!

I love the long shadows cast by the winter sun... this was just before sunset :-)

February Sunrise
Played golf today with a lady who was considering joining the club. There was a shoot on so we played the back nine... but the shoot were concentrating on the woods alongside the river so we weren't too troubled... and... it didn't put my lady off - she joined :-)

27.01.13
This morning...

...at Falmouth..
...the gales all gone... and a beautiful sunrise (plus submarine below?)
This was the view from my balcony, Lynn had up-graded me so I was able to enjoy this :-)
Now I'm back in Bedfordshire and reacquainted with my laptop - hence the update of the last few days :-)
26.01.13
The next morning brought a gale!
The ships in the bay were battered by strong winds and big waves... it was almost impossible to hold the camera still..

I returned once more to Penzance but was home again in the afternoon and must admit I fell asleep on the bed. Later I joined Lynn my host at the B & B Lerryn and we had a lovely afternoon chatting over many things. My thanks to her for a lovely stay.
24.01.13
Sunrise over West Penwith
I set off before the sun got up today, to play golf with the Ladies at Cape Cornwall Golf Club.

I didn't want to get caught up in traffic so skipped breakfast and set off early... below is the lovely sky over St Just as the sun came up behind me.
The Golf course at Cape is in the most amazing situation... we played the back nine, this was the view from the the 'second' tee. The ladies made me very welcome and Ros the Lady Captain, kindly showed me round. After a refreshing drink I went back out on the course to play the remaining nine holes... certainly a very interesting course. Richard, the course manager, is overseeing major changes to the facilities and eventually to the course too. It was great to be able to play it and I hope to be back there again soon :-)
... how about this for a green!
I went into St Just for a wander and then to Newlyn and Penzance to explore some more... by the time I got back to the hotel I was a tired bunny but it had been a good day!

23.01.13
Sunrise at Falmouth

The north easterly wind meant Falmouth was very sheltered... it was cold, but nowhere near as cold as Bedford. Today I drove to Penzance to have a look around.
22.01.13
Morning over Pavenham

Sunset at Falmouth...
The journey down started at -4 in our driveway... dropped to minus 11 en route... then gradually warmed till it was zero at Bristol. Driving was slow and careful in such icy conditions but the milder temperature was a false security... it even became plus 4 by Exeter, but then the snow began...  a little at first then thick and fast and driving Okehampton/Launceston and then over Bodmin Moor was a nerve-racking affair. At one point, when there was almost no traction, I thought I should stop... but equally knew that if I did I would be stuck... so gritted my teeth... (I know - it was the road that needed gritting!) In fact the highways agencies were brilliant and were out salting etc constantly. Anyway, I was relived to reach the milder climes of Truro and Falmouth - it had taken about 8 hours... but a rather tasty fish and chips whilst sat watching the sunset certainly helped ease the tension!
